Don’t give illegal immigrants a pass

To Mr. Hunter; Your letter about Sheriff Curran’s statement to an audience about illegals does not need defending by you. He made the comment and people took it for his true feelings.

Just because they were able to sneak across our undefended borders and then have an anchor baby to hopefully keep them here does not mean that if one of them is breaking the law, that the other parent and child should be given amnesty and then we taxpayers support them.

The sheriff would not need thick skin if he did what we elected him to do and did not try and defend criminals. If these people are into the big-time drug business we are seeing so much of in the news, then one part of that family is not the only one involved, I am sure all are part of it.

Any person here without the proper entry, should be denied any of the rights our laws give to citizens, and denied any help or respect due to their being here illegally. They are law breakers just by being here illegally, and it is your and Sheriff Curran’s job to do whatever is needed to control them and/or remove them from our country.

These people do not respect our country, which is giving them a better life. They will not learn our country’s language, they do not respect our flag, and they get a lot of free things.

Car insurance? What’s that? Income tax? Social security? I don’t pay into that! Why pay for health care when they can go to any E.R. And get treated for free, but my taxes increase?

Please be the law enforcement agency you are supposed to be.
