Island Lake officials to talk budget

The Island Lake village board’s Finance Committee will conduct long overdue talks on a budget for the 2012 fiscal year — which began June 1 — at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at village hall.

The village operated with an $8.9 million budget last year, but is projecting about $8.1 million in spending in the 2012 budget, Finance Director John Little said. Officials expect to collect about $6.3 million in revenue this year, he said.
