Hawthorn District 73 holds budget talks Monday

The Hawthorn School District 73 board of education will discuss its tentative 2011-12 budget at its regular meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, June 13.

A balanced budget was achieved after extensive discussion the past year to close a gap that had been estimated at $1.5 to $2 million. The presentation of the tentative budget will include new 5-year projections, as well as updates on health costs, staffing, material costs, energy savings and progress toward other ideas initially generated by the Financial Advisory Task Force.
