Police investigating suspicious Vernon Hills death

Police are conducting an investigation into the suspicious death of a Vernon Hills woman found in her home Wednesday night.

The Lake County coroner’s office confirmed that an autopsy was under way and the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force was investigating.

The woman was found in her home on the 300 block of Farmington Lane just east of Butterfield Road at around 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, according to Vernon Hills Police.

Police declined further comment late Thursday, but said a statement regarding the investigation would be made public at 6 a.m. Friday.
