Addison police investigating shooting

Addison police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday night in an industrial section of the village.

Scant information was available late Monday, but police said sergeants were at the scene of a shooting on Kay Avenue.

Addison police said Tuesday morning that a robbery had taken place prior to being called to the scene at 7:30 p.m., adding two people were injured in an apparent robbery attempt. They said the two people were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

However, they refused to release any additiional details about the situation.

An Addison Fire Protection District official said paramedics responded to the scene but could not comment on the investigation.

Fire officials said paramedics were returning to the station from the scene of an “active” shooting investigation around 7:45 p.m.
