S. Elgin Lions offer free vision, hearing screening June 6
Vision and deafness has no respect for age, wealth or rank – it strikes people of all economic, social and age categories with equal frequency.
To help protect the public through early detection and public awareness, the South Elgin Lions Club and the Lions of Illinois Foundation are teaming up to offer free Diabetic Retinopathy and Hearing Screenings for everyone over the age of 18 or minors 10 to 17 year old with written parental consent from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 6.
It will be held at Heritage Woods of South Elgin, 700 N. McLean Blvd. in South Elgin.
“Since the protection of our vision and hearing are so important, we hope that the people of our community will take full advantage of these screenings,” stated Chairman Lion Linda Scham.
The mobile vision and hearing screening is made possible through the Lions of Illinois Foundation, the charitable arm of the state's more than 700 Lions Clubs.
