Schaumburg’s former Alumni Club getting another makeover

The former Alumni Club in Schaumburg will be changing formats again next month, less than a year after becoming Mad Mark’s Pizza & Sports.

Drink will be the new name of the eating and drinking establishment at 871 E. Algonquin Road, long owned by A la carte Entertainment, which also operates The Snuggery, Moretti’s, Chandler’s and Finn McCool’s, among others.

In requesting a new liquor license from the Schaumburg village board Tuesday, company head Mark Hoffmann admitted that Mad Mark’s “didn’t cut it,” but promised a better concept to come. Mad Mark’s closed Saturday and Drink is expected to open in mid-June.
