Investigation continues into Schaumburg crash

Schaumburg police are continuing the investigation into an accident that left a 14-year-old Schaumburg boy in critical condition.

The boy was struck by a car while crossing at the intersection of Higgins and Plum Grove roads Friday night.

Police and paramedics received the call to the scene at 9:13 p.m.

The Toyota Camry that struck the boy was driven by a 61-year-old Hoffman Estates man. He has not been charged.

Paramedics took the boy to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said Sunday that the investigation will continue on Monday.

Police said investigators are still determining the circumstances of the crash and the boy’s direction of travel across the roadway.
