Warren’s softball team scored in every inning and limited Deerfield to 3 hits to defeat the Warriors 11-1 in five innings Thursday and earn its 20th win.
The Blue Devils’ Allie Schultz went 3-for-3 with 2 singles, a double, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Lexi Leneau added a single, double, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Paige Dombrowski tripled and singled with an RBI and 2 runs scored, and Sam Belletini singled twice and had an RBI.
Jessica Demski pitched 3 innings, striking out two to give Warren (20-12) the win.
Stevenson 1, Vernon Hills 0: Stevenson’s Ali Castriano led the top of the seventh by slamming a triple along the left field line that rolled to the fence. With one out, Sam Feder hit a fly ball to center, and Castriano scored the lone run for Stevenson (17-10-1).
Feder earned the win, striking out five.
“She was helped by some double plays and helped all around by some stellar defense,” Patriots coach Larry Friedrichs said. “Both teams played a great game. It was great softball to watch.”
Vernon Hills fell to 23-9, despite Megan Meline’s 10 strikeouts over 7 innings.
Jacobs 10, Grayslake Central 1: Claire Brennan led the Rams offensively, going 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an RBI.
Brennan also pitched the win for Grayslake Central, allowing 6 hits and striking out eight.
