Fritz to chair 911 dispatch system

Schaumburg Village Manager Ken Fritz has been appointed chairman of the Northwest Central Dispatch System board of directors for fiscal year 2012.

The system, established in 1972, provides emergency communications services for Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg and Streamwood.

The communities cover 122.6 square miles and serve a population of 488,496.

Fritz and his board will oversee the center as it prepares to replace four aging radio systems and upgrade its computer-aided dispatch system in the next year.
