Donors step up for Lisle senior banquet
I would like to thank the parents and local businesses for their donations in funding the 39th Annual Senior Banquet for Lisle High School. The event was held on May 11 at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville and was hosted by the home and school organization.
All seniors were invited to attend, at no cost to the students. Although there were many other business donors, Evviva Bar & Eatery and the Hilton Lisle/Naperville displayed an exceptional amount of generosity for this year’s banquet. Evviva donated the meal free, and the Hilton donated the banquet room/services for a nominal “gratuity” per person.
In recent years the banquet was held at a banquet facility outside of Lisle, and they did a wonderful job for a reasonable price. Rob Salerno, Evviva owner, provided cash donations to help fund the event in prior years, but suggested moving the banquet to a facility in Lisle. Although Evviva’s party room isn’t large enough to accommodate the size of the senior class, Salerno offered to donate the food if a local hotel would join him in sponsoring this year’s banquet.
Evviva donated a three-course meal for each senior and other attendees. On behalf of the HSO, I would like to thank Evviva, the Hilton and all the parents and businesses that donated to this special event. Other donations covered the costs of the hotel gratuity, DVDs, invitations, programs, postage, cake, yard signs. A complete list of business donors is listed on the Daily Herald website under the Lisle “Communities” tab.
