Obama’s joy: $7-per-gallon gas
Does any one really know, including the Obama administration, exactly what our national energy program really is? As we are starting to look at $5-a-gallon gas, we have a president that says he is for oil, then does everything in his power to stop off shore drilling, and any active oil drilling elsewhere.
In one of his campaign speeches he said he would bankrupt all coal companies, obviously unaware that 50 percent of our energy today comes from coal, and great strides are being made in clean coal.
When it comes to nuclear energy, one of the co founders of Green Peace organization stated is was a terrible mistake to oppose one of the cleanest sources of energy. President Obama has casually mentioned nuclear energy, but since the earthquake, has backed off. So that seems to be off the table.
This country has a 100-year supply of natural gas, which would seem to offer huge potential. But it is barely mentioned by the president. But what we hear over and over from this administration is the constant chanting about solar energy and wind mills. Both of which would not exist without huge government subsidies.
Keep in mind that T. Boone Pickins, who had pumped $2 billion of his own money into the windmill business, walked away saying “it ain’t going to happen”
So we are pretty much left with the big three: coal, oil and natural gas, the very energy sources we seem to be trying our best to do away with. And so, much to the environmentalist and the Obama administration joy, we will be looking at $7-a-gallon gas,
