Ivory’s golden for Lakes in sectional

Lakes senior Camille Ivory won the 100-meter hurdles and also captured the triple jump to qualify for state in both events at Thursday’s Class 2A Belvidere North sectional.

Ivory clocked a 15.51 in the 100 hurdles and leapt 35 feet in the triple jump.

Lakes also qualified for state Dana Ollendick (pole vault) and Mary Doupis (discus).

Vernon Hills (84 points) finished second to Belvidere North (132).

Going to state for Vernon Hills will be Alli Tran (long jump), Shannon Nugent (high jump), Kelley Gallagher (1,600), Danielle Fiarito (1,600) and the Eagles’ 800, 1,600, 3,200 and 400 relays.

Wauconda advanced to state Roslyn Summerville (shot put) and Andrea Lichterman (300 hurdles).

Grayslake Central’s Claire Haggerty advanced in the 1,600, while the Rams’ 3,200 relay won in 9:48.41.

Antioch’s Veronica Jandura qualified downstate in the 300 hurdles.
