Blame big business for lost freedoms
I am reminded of the Nazi Germany era quote of: “When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they locked up the Democrats, I remained silent; I was not a Democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I remained silent; I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.”
I am not a civil service employee or pensioner. I simply am aghast at the rampant and wholesale raping of the American middle class. Our nation is in denial in every respect of decency and moral backbone I can imagine. Promises and legal contracts with workers are being stripped/negated with wholesale abandon and absolutely no concern for moral/legal/ethical obligation.
But let's not apply that same mantra to the biggest commercial concerns in this country. Instead when it comes to big business, let's embrace them with the loving arms of one's mother.
And let's put the blame where it truly lies. Did you vote for any incumbent that did not have a truly flawless voting record when it came to issues of the middle class? Did they ever vote on the side of big business? Then you are to blame when your job disappears and you are kicked out of your home, etc., etc.
Today large megacompanies are crafting “forever” banned letters and making consumers sign them should the consumer win a small claims court or arbitration case against them, etc. WHAT? WHAT? Is this a nightmare from whence I will awaken, or ... life in America, the land of the free?
