Sundling Junior High holds annual charity walk for late teacher

The community is invited to participate in the sixth annual When Pigs Fly: A Walk for Carolyn fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Walter R. Sundling Junior High, 1100 N. Smith St., Palatine.

Carolyn Baider, whose motto was she’d give up on kids when pigs fly, was an award-winning teacher who died of cancer in 2004.

Sundling staff started the annual walk, which has raised nearly $60,000 for various charities. This year, it will benefit Palatine Assisting Through Hope and the Palatine Food Pantry.

The walk proceeds from Sundling to Towne Square for lunch and back to the school.

To participate, RSVP to Rich Stocker at (847) 963-3761 or stockerr@ccsd15.net or to Paul Klimas at (847) 963-3722 or klimasp@ccsd15.net.
