Bolingbrook fugitive found in Chicago
The FBI has arrested a Bolingbrook man who was found hiding in a Chicago apartment Friday night two years after he was charged with possession of child pornography, officials announced Monday.
Ruben Sanchez, 38, whose last known address was in the 100 block of South Pinecrest Road in Bolingbrook, became the subject of a nationwide manhunt after charges were filed against him in February of 2009, according to the FBI.
He was originally charged with one count of possession of child pornography, but an additional charge of distribution of child pornography was brought against him in March, according to authorities.
Investigators found Sanchez Friday night hiding in an apartment, which he was sharing with another man. FBI officials said Sanchez brandished a pellet gun at an arresting agent and tried to flee out a back door before he was apprehended.
A 2008 search of Sanchez’s Bolingbrook residence uncovered a laptop computer and 29 CDs that contained numerous images of child pornography, according to authorities.
He is being held without bond.
