Walsh wants to end, not save, Medicare

As I picked through my mail today, I came across a flyer with a photo of GOP Congressman Joe Walsh smiling and joyful senior citizens Photoshopped on the flip side giving Walsh the thumbs-up.

The text tells us to call Walsh and thank him for voting to improve Medicare. No joke. It really said that. In fact, Walsh just voted to privatize Medicare with vouchers so future elderly Americans can beg insurance companies for coverage. Remember the “Hands off my Medicare” tea party signs at their rallies? Of course,

Walsh will tell you he is “protecting” Medicare. Next, he will be telling you that investing in Wall Street is the best way to protect your Social Security. Yes, that’s next. The flyer is a mailer from 60 Plus, an anti-government group supported by, and linked to, the pharma industry and other corporate interests.

Surprised? Contact Joe Walsh and tell him if he wants to balance the budget, he can start with the needless tax givebacks to millionaires and subsidies to the oil industry rather than picking on fixed income seniors.
