Thanks to voters in Island Lake

Now that the official canvas of votes has taken place, we take this opportunity to thank all of the Island Lake residents who took the time and came out in droves to vote in the Consolidated General Election April 5 and made certain that Island Lake got turned in the RIGHT direction. (Your voices were heard).

We are indebted to our supporters for running a clean and honest campaign that reflected our commitments to openness and integrity. It is humbling to have had so many people supporting our platform. Thanks goes to those who had confidence in our message and endorsed us and also to all of the people who wrote the wonderful letters to the editor, posted signs in your yards, made phone calls and so much more.

There were many who worked behind the scenes talking to voters, creating and handing out literature, putting out signs, sending emails. We know how important your efforts were and we thank you.

Thanks also go to our running mate, Joe Ptak, without whom we might never have taken up this challenge. May you have success in all of your future endeavors.

Thank you to Trustee Ponio, Trustee Saville and Trustee Verciglio for serving Island Lake. Your collective commitment to public service is appreciated.

And, finally, congratulations to Trustee-elect, Chuck Cermak. We look forward to working with you and the rest of the board.
