Cartoon hit the mark on executives’ pay

I enjoyed the cartoon “Dear Mr. CEO” on the Opinion Page recently. It was especially appropriate as it followed a previous article, “New Caterpillar CEO’s compensation quadruples.” The company’s explanation for the outrageous salaries paid to both the retired and current CEO’s has not convinced me that, in its words, both were warranted. There are some out there that don’t have a clue; however, more than likely, some do but really don’t care.

I suggest the Daily Herald frame copies of the cartoon and send one to Caterpillar and one to President Obama. On second thought, let me have the honor.
