Highland students make blankets for local hospital patients

Highland Middle School eighth grade Peer Helpers, along with Language Arts teacher Alison Ortega, and social workers Alan Esser, Mara Battaglia, and Michele Hernandez, dropped off 60 fleece blankets students made for hospital patients at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

During the winter, student Peer Helpers and members of the National Junior Honor Society brought in fleece material to make blankets during Studio One (homeroom).

Another 25 blankets made by students will be dropped off at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
