Mount Prospect water main break to stall traffic

Due to a deep water main break in Mount Prospect, major traffic delays are expected near the intersection of Central Road and Northwest Highway.

Repairs of the broken water main were to begin this afternoon at 3 p.m., causing Central Road to have one lane open in each direction from Northwest Highway to Cathy Lane.

Construction is expected to last through the early hours of Wednesday morning. Drivers are advised to avoid this area, as extensive traffic delays are anticipated.
