New Palatine community marching band to play in Fourth parade

Want to be part of the camaraderie of a band playing and marching in step?

The Palatine Park District is forming a park district marching band, open to adults and high school students, that will perform at the village’s Fourth of July parade.

The Palatine Area Community Marching Band will rehearse twice a week for five weeks, between May 31 and June 30, at the Community Center and Track, 250 E. Wood St., Palatine.

Rehearsals will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The fee to participate is $35 for park district residents and $50 for nonresidents.

The Palatine Fourth of July parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2.

The Palatine Area Community Marching Band is open to adults and high school students with previous instrument experience, although no marching experience is necessary.
