Marklund to host pancake breakfast

Daily Herald report

Marklund will hold its first ever Pancake Breakfast, and the entire community is invited to the all-you-can-eat buffet from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Marklund Hyde Center, 1S450 Wyatt Drive, Geneva. There will be two seatings, from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 10 to 11 a.m.

Breakfast features pancakes, sausage, pastries, coffee, juice, and milk, and guests will be encouraged to go back for more. In addition, there will be a split-the-pot raffle and a drawing for terrific prizes.

All funds raised support the programs and services provided by Marklund to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

“Planning a first-time event is exciting,” said Vicki Krystof, director of development for Marklund. “We are hoping for a good turnout, and perhaps this pancake breakfast could be an annual event.”

“We are so thrilled to be part of Marklund’s first pancake breakfast,” said Jamie Peterson, who is a sibling of a Marklund resident. “We are looking forward to a wonderful event to bring families, friends, staff and the community together to celebrate and raise funds for Marklund while enjoying a Saturday morning breakfast together.

Tickets to the breakfast are $10 each. Admission for children under age 10 is $5. For more information, call (630) 593-5482 or visit www.marklund.org.
