Barrington barbershop quartet state champ

Barrington High School took first place in the State Barbershop Quartet Championship this month.

The quartet, “After Shave,” was crowned State Champion Illinois Quartet for 2011 on April 16 in Peoria. During the competition, “After Shave” was the only quartet of the 16 groups in the finals to receive a standing ovation.

The group consists of seniors Ryan Fish, Austin Gerali, Conor Kelch and Robby Kipferl, and was directed by faculty member Nancie Tobison.
