Obama has started a long ‘odyssey’
Does anyone appreciate the irony that Barack Obama launched his 2012 campaign exactly on the eighth anniversary of “Operation Iraqi Freedom?” When we were kids we’d often challenge one another with the expression, “Two guesses and the first two don’t count.” Well, let’s guess who came up with the name of the operation in Libya: “Operation Odyssey Dawn.”
The dictionary identifies an odyssey as “a long series of wanderings or adventures, especially when filled with notable experiences, hardships, etc.” No winning strategy. No exit strategy. No nothing but a “long series of wanderings . . . filled with hardships.” I guess your guess is as good as mine.
