A solution to the union problem

There is no question that in the past unions have helped people fight greedy corporations. But today, now that unions have grown powerful, who now protects the people from greedy unions?

Well, I have a solution to Wisconsin’s problem. First we give the government’s union workers anything they want. Better pay, health benefits, pensions, anything they ask for, it’s theirs. Of course this will be costly, so where will their government get the money? Simple — it will need to pass a new tax. Now, seeing as how the government workers will be the only ones who will benefit from this new tax it is only reasonable to require that they and they alone be responsible for paying it.

That way they get all they want and it won’t affect the average taxpayer. What could possibility be fairer then that?

Of course, it really doesn’t matter what the state does with this union problem as the real budget problems go way beyond that. Still, this does provide a nice distraction from having to discuss any of the really serious problems in our economic system.
