Dist. 220 approves summer projects

Barrington Unit District 220 has approved $1.6 million in summer maintenance projects for this year, including renovation of the locker rooms at Station Middle School and replacement of roofs at Barrington High School and Arnett C. Lines Elementary. These projects, to be completed by outside contractors, will be paid with Capital Projects and Operations and Maintenance funds, as well as with money left from last year’s under-budget completion of the Early Learning Center. In addition, the board of education has received an overview of $227,500 in budgeted summer maintenance projects to be managed by district staff, including upgrading the playgrounds at Hough and Sunny Hill schools, renovation the Station Middle School tech lab, replacing library furniture at Grove Elementary and extending sidewalks at North Barrington School.
