Hanover Twp. seeks youth award nominees

The Hanover Township Committee on Youth is accepting nominations for the 2011 Youth Leadership Awards. The committee is committed to honoring and recognizing community youth and adult leaders for being a positive role model for youth within Hanover Township.

Awards will be given in the following categories:

Rising Star Award — given to an elementary student in K-sixth grades.

Junior Leader Award — given to a middle school student in grades seven-eight.

High School Leader Award — given to a high school student in ninth-12th grades.

Youth nominees must live within the township.

The Community Youth Leader Award is given to an adult who lives in and works with the youth of Hanover Township in a leadership capacity. Award recipients will be recognized at a banquet May 17 at the township.

“There are lots of great stories of youth taking an active role in the community and we look forward to recognizing their service,” said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor.

Nomination forms are available on the township's website, hanover-township.org, or at the Hanover Township Youth & Family Services office, 250 S. Route 59, Bartlett. Completed nominations are due no later than Friday, April 22.
