Stevenson succeeds at science competition

Stevenson High School’s Science Olympiad team finished second at the Illinois Science Olympiad at the University of Illinois on Saturday.

Stevenson earned 18 top-five finishes in the competition and claimed nine state championships.

The showing earns the Lincolnshire school its third straight bid to the Science Olympiad National Tournament, which this year will be held at the University of Wisconsin from May 18 to 21. Last year, Stevenson placed 11th in the nation.
