Japan benefit being held in Schaumburg

The Midwest Conservatory of Music is hosting a Benefit Concert for Japan to support earthquake relief 2 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 W. Higgins Road, Schaumburg.

The performers are all professional musicians who also teach at Midwest Conservatory of Music. This event is officially sponsored by the Consulate General of Japan in Chicago. All donations will be sent to Japanese Red Cross through the Consulate General of Japan in Chicago.

Admission if fee, but donation boxes will be at the door.

The music will include: Beethoven String Quartet No. 5 in A major, Op. 18; Mozart Clarinet Quintet in A major, K. 581; Hindemith Oboe Sonata in G major; Barber Canzonetta, Op. 48; and other works.

Musicians include: HaeRim Yoo, piano; Kanae Tsuruga, piano; Younghee Kim, violin; Madeline Capistran, violin; Taka Matsunaga, viola; Brian Hoffman, cello; Barmey Ung, guitar; Hideko Amano, flute; Naomi Matsunaga, oboe; Kumiko Nowlan, clarinet; Mas Sugihara, saxophone.
