Wauconda police to buy new fingerprint system
Wauconda Police Chief Doug Larsson has proposed purchashing a new automated fingerprint and mug shot system for $24,335 to replace the current system, which is 10 years old and can no longer be serviced. The new system, which would be provided by ID Networks Inc., uses laser digital data to capture the fingerprints and automatically combines a photograph and personal
identification into the police record. Larsson said the new automated system also integrates well with the department’s record management system. The board will take action on the purchase at the village board meeting Tuesday, April 19.
