Stunning number of unregistered voters

My husband and I were asked to distribute door hangers as a reminder of the election on the doors of registered voters in our area. I was appalled, angered and saddened by the number of nonregistered households, which far outnumbered those who were registered.

The very reason that our local, state and federal government have put us in the predicament that we are in is because too many of us have not paid attention. We really cannot blame the government if we have not paid attention.

People are losing their homes, jobs and pensions because we have not paid attention. Our state is going bankrupt because we have not paid attention. Our taxes are outrageous because we have not paid attention.

I urge everyone who is not a registered voter to begin to pay attention by registering, becoming informed and voting in the next election.
