St. Charles Library incumbents re-elected

Dominick Leo lost his bid Tuesday night for re-election to the Messenger Library board in North Aurora.

In the St. Charles Library district, two incumbents won re-election.

And for the Maple Park Library, no one won or lost because no one ran.

Leo, who has been a Messenger trustee since 2007, finished with 651 votes and was defeated by Shannon Rapp with 1,030 votes, Trustee William Middleton with 833 votes, and Justin Kline with 779 votes, according to unofficial totals. There were three seats open.

St. Charles trustees Kimberly Reese and Donald Augustine won with 1,758 and 1,273 votes, respectively. Terrence Heffron received 1,046 votes and Cynthia Steimle received 1,103 votes.

All other area library races were uncontested. In Batavia, only two people ran for three vacancies.

And in Maple Park, nobody ran for either of the three 4-year vacancies or the four 2-year vacancies. It is a seven-member board that has been operating with only five members.
