Haley on the hook again?

Haley Reinhart continued her “American Idol” comeback Wednesday night.

But with so many strong performances, the Wheeling native could find her Idol journey has come to an end.

Rock ‘n' Roll Hall of Fame night was good to Reinhart and for the second week in a row, she was solid vocally, tearing her way through Janis Joplin's “Piece of My Heart,”

It was a natural fit as the judges have compared Reinhart's style to Joplin's more than once.

So, of course the judges loved her performance (though to be fair, was there a performance that Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler didn't like Wednesday?)

“What you're showing everybody is that you're a contender,” Lopez said. “You're coming on strong.”

Tyler even told Reinhart that she embodied the spirit of the 1960s rock ‘n' roll era.

“I couldn't find nothing wrong with that,” he said. “Janis gave the voice to rock ‘n' roll back in ‘68, and you did it again tonight.”

But with the judges providing not even a modicum of criticism and only a couple of Idols with knockout performances, tonight's elimination is going to be tense. Idol sends one contestant packing, starting at 7 tonight on Fox.
