Ives, Sanguinetti to join Wheaton City Council

Jeanne Ives and Evelyn Pacino Sanguinetti have won the race for city council in Wheaton. According to unofficial results and with all precincts reporting Tuesday, Ives received 4,515 votes and Sanguinetti garnered 3,608.

Alberta Adamson finished third with with 2,359 votes, followed by Bob Molenhouse, 1,716, and Derek Bromstead, 1,600.

Ives and Sanguinetti will take their seats during the May 2 city council meeting.

Ives and Sanguinetti both said they will focus on downtown infrastructure and flooding issues as they take their seats.

Additionally, Ives said she would seek as much information as she could get regarding the city’s three downtown tax increment-financed districts to help develop a long-term plan for the districts.
