Wheeling man arrested as purse thief suspect
A Wheeling man was arrested Saturday night after he came out of the Randhurst movie theaters in Mount Prospect.
Authorities said he stole a purse from an unlocked car in the same parking lot.
Jose Aramboro, 19, of the 1000 block of Anthony Road, was charged with burglary to an auto, a Class 3 felony punishable by two to five years in prison. Aramboro's bond was set Monday at $7,500 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.
Cook County state's attorney's spokesman Andy Conklin said Aramboro had left the purse exposed inside his own car, which was spotted by the victim, who alerted Randhurst security that her car had been burglarized.
Mount Prospect police officers were waiting for Aramboro when he came out of the theater with his girlfriend in tow at about 8:20 p.m.
Aramboro's next court appearance is April 27.
