Shelter Inc. hosts seminar on coping with anxiety
Shelter Inc. will host a seminar on managing stress and anxiety from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.
“Don’t Try Harder, Try Different: 7 Ways to Manage Stress and Anxiety” will be presented by Dr. Patrick McGrath.
The seminar is free, and three continuing education credits will be given to licensed social workers and counselors in attendance.
McGrath is director of the Center for Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and co-director of the School Anxiety and School Refusal Program at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital.
He is president of the Anxiety Centers of Illinois and president of the Midwest affiliate of the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation.
McGrath has written two books, “Don’t Try Harder, Try Different” and “The OCD Answer Book.”
