PAC holds too much sway in Winfield

I have been a resident of Winfield for 43 years and now, my village is at a crucial crossroads. We are divided more today than I have ever experienced and I am compelled to express my view.

”Enough is enough, its time for a change.” Forget the nauseating election rhetoric, The real issues are: How do we rebuild our crumbling infrastructure? How do we use our “TIF” status in conjunction with sensible devolvement? How do we engage and mutually optimize our largest business partner-CDH How do we finance the above?

A PAC, Winfield United, holds an unequal representation on our village board. This hurts all of us. We need better; non-politically aligned Board Members ... we need our board to be in service to all Winfield. This type of representation is and always will be the wrong path for government. This has never been the Winfield Way.

Ours has been the close working of all constituents of our village toward a common goal. Our town and its future. Our village, my village, is being torn apart. This must stop now. We deserve and demand: Fair Representation on our board, better ideas. no more tax referendums and sensible development. I support and endorse Tony Reyes and Tim Allen. Both men share a true belief in a balanced approach to development, strong fiscal conservatism and are ready to serve. They have ideas; values and the strength to counterbalance this overweighted current board.

I believe Tony Reyes and Tim Allen will help move Winfield in a better, more balanced and positive direction. It is time to include all in the governance of our wonderful village before its too late.
