Glenbard North rolls past Bartlett

Glenbard North 9, Bartlett 1:

Purdue recruit Lilly Fecho struck out 10 and allowed just 1 unearned run on 1 hit, as the Panthers rolled in their season opener.

Susan Lindstrom and Alexis Simone each went 2-for-3 and slugged 2-run homers and Jessica Norman added a solo shot. Fecho went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and Alyssa Jasinski 2-for-2 with a walk.

Waubonsie Valley 19-6, Plainfield East 7-10:

Jackie Kreiner went 4-for-5 with a homer, 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored for the Warriors in Game 1. Amanda Minihan went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 4 RBI and scored 4 runs, Erin Hohman 3-for-4 with a double, 4 runs scored and 3 RBI and Amanda Lack 3-for-5 with a double and 3 RBI.

A 7-run Plainfield East bottom of the sixth rallied the home team in the second game. Hohman went 3-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBI, Minihan 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and Jessica Sarch 3-for-4 with a double for Waubonsie (2-2).

Wheaton North 6-8, Geneva 5-1:

Katie Thornton (1-1) struck out 16, one-hitting Geneva in the second game for a doubleheader sweep in Wheaton. Paige Wilson went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and Thornton 2-for-4 with 2 RBI for Wheaton North (3-2) in the first game, and Kahla Nolan (2-1) struck out 11. The Falcons exploded for 7 runs in the fourth inning of Game 2. Natalie Leahy went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

West Chicago 14-14, Willowbrook 0-1:

Mary Connolly (2-1) struck out seven in no-hitting the Warriors in Game 1, and slugged a 3-run homer in the second game in West Chicago. Jenny Goldsmith went deep in the first game, and Rachel Johnson doubled, homered and drove in 2 runs for West Chicago (3-2) in Game 2.

Montini 12, Aurora Christian 5:

Shaylee Lewis went 4-for-4 with a double, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI for the host Broncos. Christina Barrett went 2-for-4, scored 2 runs, stole a base and had an RBI for Montini (1-2, 1-0 Suburban Christian Blue).

St. Francis 11, Plainfield North 1:

Blaine Carragher homered for the Spartans (2-2) to back Taylor Ronchetto’s strong start.

Fenwick 5, York 4:

Alyssa Johnson went 3-for-4 with a double and a homer and Ellen Barry 2-for-3 with a double for the Dukes (1-1) in an eight-inning loss.

Heritage Christian (Ind.) 7-5, Wheaton Academy 3-4:

Marissa Gagliano doubled for Wheaton Academy in Game 1 of the doubleheader in Indianapolis.
