Winfield offers kind and gentle life

Enough of the negativity. Winfield is a wonderful town. The town you should love and brag about because you chose to live here, to raise your family here and to be part of your community. You should be applauding the many, many people who volunteer their time to participate in boards, commissions, committees and yes, elected office too.

The issues facing Winfield today face most of the municipalities, the township, the county and even the state because of today’s economic conditions — not because of the present administration. Roads do not deteriorate in two years, but in the lack of care during the past 12 years. And this is just an example. Our present village administration works long and hard on pre-meeting information so that they can be knowledgeable and prepared for board meetings.

They do wonders with the amount of money available to this village and look to the future to maintain the comfortable, well-appointed Winfield that we dearly love. I, too, am a “former village president,” and I know from experience the time and effort our elected officials put in for the village residents.

I am proud of them and I hope you will be also as you cast your vote on April 5 for Cliff Mortensen, Glenn VadeBonCoeur and Jim Hughes, so that our wonderful village will continue to attract more residents because of what we offer: a kind and gentle way of life.
