Quality, character is what should count
Jeff Dolce, a Bloomingdale village trustee seeking re-election, is running a tough campaign despite being out-financed by his competition. Jeff has been involved in many activities during his residency in Bloomingdale.
Among others, he volunteered on the Westlake Townhome Owners Association, various committees and the board; the Bloomingdale Park District, the Bloomingdale Baseball Association and 10 years with the village of Bloomingdale, including four years as chairman of the plan commission.
He is dedicated to upholding the standards established and keeping programs providing village services, quality of life, expanding business, maintaining low taxes and working for all residents. He also believes it is important to run a clean campaign that does not solicit donations, believing that he doesn’t want to owe anyone. His campaign funds are limited and signs and brochures are important to get his name out. It’s really tough when many of the signs he puts out disappear within hours.
Bloomingdale is a small town which has had a good reputation for quality and integrity, but it seems like we are experiencing big city politics. I do not think that campaign spending, the quantity or size of signs is a reason to vote for a person or party. It should always be the character and quality of the candidate.
