Well-versed on park district issues
On April 5 we residents of Wheaton will have the opportunity to exercise our privilege of choosing those among us who will be making crucial decisions on our behalf in the future. Among those contending for the position of park district commissioner is Kim VanderSchaaf.
Kim has lived in Wheaton with husband, Brian, for 12 years and feels this town exhibits the best in a suburban setting due to, among many other things, its parks. Her experience in the corporate sector has allowed her to develop analytical and listening skills that she feels are essential for a park board commissioner to be able to solicit and welcome input from the commnity and, most importantly, fold it into their decision-making.
Personally, Kim is a bright, articulate, focused and tenacious young woman. She is a faithful, passionate steward of the environment, (as evidenced by her green yard signs), a firm believer in responsible community stewardship of our natural and monetary resources and also the total transparency and accountability of all elected public servants.
Kim is well-versed on issues of our park district in which she has already become involved and she feels her coalescent skills can further enhance its mandate to provide the optimum in usage of all spaces under its pervue.
