D15 planning group meets Tuesday

Technology will be front and center for the fourth in a series of seven Navigate15 community engagement sessions, which will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in the cafeteria at Winston Campus, 900 E. Palatine Road in Palatine.

The sessions are being sponsored by Palatine Township Elementary School District 15 as part of its long-term planning process. The session will look at issues such as how has technology transformed the way teachers teach and students learn and the technology challenges to the effort to provide a cutting-edge education.

About 80 residents, parents, and staff members participated in the last Navigate15 community engagement session — a Feb. 22 meeting in which Deputy Superintendent Jim Garwood delivered a PowerPoint presentation that outlined different enrollment and demographic trends seen within the district and explained their impact on class sizes and student achievement.

On April 25, Navigate15 will look at facilities needs, on May 31 finances and on June 21 developing an executive summary for the school board.

All Navigate15 community engagement sessions will be held from 7–9 p.m. in the cafeteria at Winston Campus, 900 E. Palatine Road in Palatine.
