D-C’s Manfrin Top Times 3,200 champ

The Fox Valley area had some productive finishes Saturday at the Illinois Prep Top Times track and field meet, but none more so than Dundee-Crown senior Anthony Manfrin.

Manfrin won the 3,200 meters at Illinois Wesleyan University, clocking a time of 9:13.14, well ahead of second place Garrett Sweatt of Edwardsville, who ran a 9:17.93.

Manfrin was the only event champion among the Fox Valley participants at the meet, although there were several other top finishes.

Bartlett’s Tynan Johnson took third in the Class AAA long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 2 ½ inches.

Burlington Central senior Tre Llanes also had a banner day in the Class AA meet. He finished second in the 55 hurdles in a time of 7.82 and took fifth in the long jump at 21-1 ¼.

The Rockets also took third in the 3,200 relay in a time of 8:14.83. Team members were Alexis Camarena, Clint Creal, Mason Creal and Joe Gannon.
