Bedroom fire damages Addison home
An Addison family was displaced Thursday after a small fire left their two-story house uninhabitable.
Firefighters saw smoke from a second-floor bedroom window of the house on the 400 block of Pioneer Drive and were able to extinguish the fire within 10 minutes.
A mother and son were home when the fire started and called 911 after smelling something burning about 3:10 p.m., officials said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation late Thursday.
An initial investigation estimated the damages to the house and contents at less than $50,000.
