A call to action for all Americans
I would like to express my opinion on an important perspective regarding the Wisconsin “walkout.” It’s a travesty to witness our democracy being blatantly undermined by duly elected representatives neglecting their fiduciary responsibilities. This could very well be a precursor to the conduct of governing bodies in our great country to rebel against our democratic system. Governing bodies nationwide, at every level, can just walk out when they can’t deliver to their special interest supporters. Imagine our military refusing to defend us.
We have a Constitution that mandates how our country is to be managed. Our Constitution does not provide for a subsector power, a union, that represents only 15 percent of the population, to leverage their demands through crippling conduct forcing exorbitant compensation and benefit levels far beyond what the majority of voters receive.
We voters must demand the release of the influence unions have on our American prosperity. We voters must refuse to pay higher taxes and borrow money to support the union elitist group. We voters must demand the elected representatives defend and uphold the Constitution to the written word and the spirit as it was created.
We, the silent majority of Americans, must call, write, e-mail or visit our elected representatives to tell them what we want. Our vote is more influential to politicians’ futures than lobbyists or special interest groups money is. We need to act now.
