Woman injured in Crystal Lake crash
An Algonquin woman was injured Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer struck the driver’s side door of her car on Route 176 in Crystal Lake, according to police.
Rescue crews extricated Brenda Czaya, 42, from a 2005 Mazda 3 after she tried to make a left turn onto westbound Route 176 from a private drive near Route 31, according to authorities.
A tractor-trailer headed east on Route 176 struck the driver-side door of the Mazda and sent it into the rear of a third eastbound vehicle just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.
Czaya was taken to Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry with injuries that are believed to be nonlife-threatening, according to the Crystal Lake Fire Department.
Eastbound traffic on Route 176 was diverted for about 30 minutes due to the crash.
Czaya was cited for failing to yield from a private drive.
Neither driver of the other two vehicles involved was injured or cited.
