Internet tax another blow to business
Our governor believes his new Internet tax on retailers will save “main street” jobs. Did you know that taxes drive jobs away? Duh! The Performance Marketing Association points out that Amazon’s affiliates in Illinois will cause this state to lose 25 percent to 35 percent of the revenue currently collected from them as they lose business, cut jobs and/or move out of state. It seems to me that if we were a business friendly state and attracted new business, our revenues would go up. Illinois’ taxes on business, Internet and individuals have caused lots of people to get out of Illinois, so our leader, Mr. Quinn, can collect rocks not money.
