Streamwood needs Brogan on village board
It’s hard to believe that we are once again a few weeks away from another consolidated election. Our village today faces many new challenges because of fragile economic conditions. More than ever we need strong, empathetic and strategic leadership to help us navigate through the tough times ahead while looking out toward the future on how to make a great community even better.
This is why I’m writing this letter to you endorsing my friend and colleague, Rick Brogan for Streamwood village trustee.
Rick and his family have resided in Streamwood for the past 19 years. During this time, Rick has coached football, basketball and baseball, as well as serving as a charter member of the Streamwood Park Foundation. Because of his role as a 25-year veteran of the Itasca Police Department, Hanover Township sought him out to join their public safety and health committee.
In 2009, Rick was elected to the Streamwood park board, working with the board and staff in creating a master plan that enables the park district to strategically make improvements in park maintenance, programming and developing programs that our residents are looking for.
In the fall of 2009, he led an effort along with U-46 to see if neighboring park districts can partner with the school district in taking over the “B” sports programs that were being cut because of U-46 budget restraints.
Because of this action, kids can continue to play for school teams. This effort is also leading park districts in helping with other after school activities such as theater and art.
These are just a few examples of why I’m a Brogan backer. Rick is very empathetic, strategic and most of all, he’s very ethical. In a time when character certainly seems to be fading, Rick is a refreshing breath of fresh air who will always look out for the best interests of our community.
Please join me in voting for Rick Brogan for village trustee on April 5th.
