For Antiock-Lake Villa Dist. 117: Jacobs, Duffy, Quinn

Daily Herald Editorial Board

Sandy Jacobs is the only incumbent on the April 5 ballot running for the three four-year positions on the Antioch-Lake Villa Area High School District 117 board. Jacobs is a team player and is passionate about the students. Jacobs is endorsed. We also endorse newcomers Kari Duffy and Merry Quinn. Duffy says communication is key to success and promises strong listening and problem solving skills. Quinn has 21 years of high school experience and wants to be fiscally responsible to taxpayers. Candidates Robert Buehler and Ken Dewitt have school board experience and are committed to providing a quality education. They say they have learned valuable lessons while serving at Millburn District 24 including being conservative with spending. However, we think Jacobs, Duffy and Quinn make the best combination of experience, fiscal responsibility and commitment to students.
